CDC Article Highlights Food Retailer Licensing as an Innovative Approach to Increase Access to Healthful Foods

In an article published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Laughlin and Kramer (2012) describe a new policy option for improving access to healthful foods in communities:  a Model Licensing Ordinance for Healthy Food Retailers. The Model Licensing Ordinance was developed by ChangeLab Solutions, a national non-profit organization that develops community-based laws and policies for promoting health.
