The coordinating committee of the Food Policy Council of Buffalo and Erie County (FPC) is looking for people to join the newly forming council. The FPC was created in May 2013 as a sub-commission of the Erie County Board of Health and was created in order to provide local governments (legislative bodies and executive agencies) with an advisory body that would be able to provide expert information on policies that could improve the local food system.
The FPC is currently accepting applications from those interested in joining the FPC. It is a volunteer position and would require applicants to attend 4 meetings per year. Applications are available online at http://food.b-ap.net/hkhcbuffalo/food-policy-council-of-buffalo-and-erie-county/
Come learn more about joining the FPC at an info session and free screening of the documentary, “A Place at the Table” on Friday, August 16th, 2013, 6PM in Diefendorf Hall (Room 146). Members from the FPC steering committee will be on hand to answer your questions. Applications will be available on site. Light refreshments will feature local food catered by The Gourmet Store of Western New York, Inc.
