Daniela Leon is a research associate at the Food Systems Planning and Healthy Communities Lab. She is a graduate of the Environmental Design program from The University at Buffalo’s School of Architecture and Planning. Her research interests focus on advancing the role of equity in urban and inner-city planning processes. Much of her work has explored the opportunities for engaging informal practices with city planning to result in more equitable community outcomes. Currently, Daniela’s interests unfold in collaboration with the Food Lab’s interdisciplinary team seeking to advance equity in community food systems through a local government policy lens.
